The Villa Vineyard is a magestic private Tuscan villa overlooking the hills and the villages below. It is conveniently located 15 kms from Florence and combines both the proximity of the city with the serenity of the country hills. Situated on a hill just outside the village of Lastra a Signa, on the northern border of the Chianti region this stunning villa is surrounded by a 100 hectare estate comprising of its own expansive terraced olive grove, an ancient vineyards and endless possibilities to walk through the paths in the woodland. From the hillside position you will enjoy magnificent views over Florence and the Arno Valley below.

The spacious villa accommodates up to 16 guests making it an ideal property for a larger family get together or a vacation with friends. The property was once part of a monastery and since a family home before being renovated in early 2014 to prepare for the welcoming of its international guests. The renovations have been carefully done in order to maintain its old world charm and original features but ensuring the comfort and modern requirements of todays savvy traveller. The furnishings are of the highest quality and the villa is really a ‘home’ and decorated beautifully, no detail left with wonderful tapestries and rugs, decadently finished cushions and sofas and lovely artwork. The attention to detail can really be seen here and stepping into this villa you can imagine how it was in its finest day as this has been recreated now.

Villa Vineyard has two kitchens on the ground floor, both completely equipped and ready for use at any time. On the ground level of the villa there is one wing that can be used as a separate apartment which comprises of one of the kitchens that leads out onto a terrace, a matrimonial bedroom and then a large lounge area which also has a double sofa bed for additional guests.

There is also a bathroom with WC and a shower here on this level. You have access outside directly to the pool area from here .

Also on this level is the main kitchen of the villa which has a completely functional and accessorized with everything you may need including two ovens, 6 gas burners, a double fridge, and a dishwasher. There is also a dining table here for about 8 people. Off the main kitchen is the formal dining room with working fireplace. Here you can seat 14 people. Down a few steps to the formal lounge area, extremely spacious and decorated with luxury furnishings of immaculate taste. Views from the window onto the vineyards and the town below. The villa boasts numerous areas both internally and externally for relaxing and also dining. On the properties ground level there is a huge verandah overlooking the vineyard and over to Florence, and on a clear day you can see the Duomo’s ‘dome’ from here. There is a table here for 6 people .Walk up the hand carved stone staircase to the second floor where the majority of bedrooms are located . There are 5 bedrooms here and 2 bathrooms all located around a large central living area with TV. The largest bedroom is on the far right and has 2 queen size beds and a private ensuite bathroom with WC, bidet, double hand basins and a shower over the bath. There is another 30 sq metre bedroom with a king size bed, and another 3 bedrooms with queen beds . There is a laundry room off one of the bedrooms with washing machine. The small tower on the third floor is used mostly for storage.

The villa is situated in a perfect location to enjoy all of Tuscany. In 5 mins you can be on the superstrada to get you to Pisa and Lucca in 40 mins, in Florence in 20 mins and to Siena in less than an hour. The Autostrada which runs north to south is only 10 mins from the villa. There are two local village train stations also within a 5 min drive. Trains run from here to Florence in just 20 mins which avoids the need for navigation and expensive parking, and to all major cities. There is also an excellent Tuscan cooking school on another part of the estate site and during the spring/summer/autumn there are lots of activities happening, wine excursions, dinners, trips to the food markets with the chefs, cooking classes etc etc .

The estate produces its own wine and also extra virgin olive oil. There is a cute little village right near the villa, good for ice creams in the afternoon and fresh fruit & veggies from the farmers market on wednesday mornings. There is a butcher, two pizzerias, bank, chemist, and a couple of good general stores all very close and one of the general stores will also home deliver. We can also easily arrange a chef to come and cook for you some evenings if you like or you can join in on the cooking classes or just come for lunch/dinner. Holidaying at the Villa Vineyard you will experience Tuscany the way that the local people do, buying your foods at the local market, making friends with the locals and enjoying the balmy summer evenings and great local restaurants.
